ILIGAN CITY —– The Provincial Police Office in Lanao del Norte (PPO LDN) welcomed on Monday (December 14) its new officer-in-charge in the person of Police Col. Isaias Bacurnay, a graduate of the Philippine National Police Academy (PNPA) Class of 1998.
Bacurnay replaced Col. Rolindo Suguilon ( PNPA Class 1995) who only had five months of his tour of duty in Lanao del Norte.
Suguilon, who was assigned in Lanao del Norte in August 3, this year, was transferred to PPO Misamis Occidental.
The change of command ceremony was held around 8:30 a.m. on Monday after the flag raising inside the headquarters of PPO LDN in Barangay Pigcarangan, in Tubod town, witnessed by the officers coming from the Police Regional Office (PRO) 10.
In his acceptance speech, Bacurnay committed to continue his “low tone but firm kind of leadership”.
“We will focus on imposing strict discipline among erring personnel, intensified campaign against criminality and illegal drugs, enhanced programs for crime prevention and suppression as well as strengthened public engagement,” Bacurnay said.
Bacurnay is the former chief of Regional Operations Management Division (ROMD) of PRO 10 before his assignment as OIC of PPO LDN.
After the change of command ceremony, Suguilon accompanied Bacurnay for a courtesy call to Lanao del Norte Gov. Imelda Dimaporo at her office at the provincial capitol in the town of Tubod.
