Summer Hill School Cagayan de Oro recently unveiled its new brand as a technology centered institution that will mold students through the different tech-based programs starting with Robotics.
In the past 17 years of committed service in nurturing future leaders, the school leveled up with the re-branding, new logo, new set of uniforms, redesigned fully airconditioned classrooms, an innovation space for robotics and newly acquired programs like Singaporean Math and Learning Management System.
“After 17 years of service, we decided to revisit our vision, mission, and the overall purpose of the school. This led to the introduction of a new logo, which aligns with our senior high school program,” explained School Directress Ms. Lettie Mae Salas Damasing.
SUMMER HILL SCHOOL is envisioned to become an Education hub where learners experience technology driven programs that will further enhance their skills and abilities to apply into learning. Aside from expansions which started with the school ANNEX A for the Pre-school Department, in the next two years, another Campus will be unveiled, this will be for the Junior and Senior High School and College
The school will gradually acquire Interactive Panels for its Elementary levels and High School Departments, making classroom classes innovative with the use of technologies both hardware and software.
Soon Summer Hillians will be using programmable application with the use of their very own gadgets, making learning more accessible, convenient and tech driven. This app will also be available in tracking the learners performance by their parents or guardians through the parents dashboards.
Teachers will have their own dashboard also which they can upload lessons plans and references which will be available on a scheduled access of students based on the classes timeline. An interactive touch screen panels will soon be available to every classroom, replacing blackboard or whiteboard with the most sophisticated teaching technology, which apps of students are integrated with the teachers and the Interactive Panel. This ushers into the Classroom of the Future where teaching and learning becomes paper-less and accessible online or offline.
With this technology of Hybid Learning Management System the school will soon be introducing Hybrid Distance Learning which will be available for all students across Mindanao, making education accessible and available to everyone across levels, from out of school youth to adult students.
“Now there’s no reason why young people or and adults cannot finish their High School, we will bring school to their area providing access to quality of SUMMER HILLian education,” Ms. Damasing said.
Along with this big leap, SUMMER HILL SCHOOL in partnership with SpryTech Solutions – is integrating Robotics in the Grade School, Junior and Senior Highschool curriculums, enhancing the learner’s skills in critical thinking, calculation, coding and innovative integration. Learners will be able to make their ideas come to life with the newly acquired 3D Printers and create ideas to further explore creativity and technology which will not just be self- beneficial but also to the community.
“Our goal is to provide ongoing support to teachers. We plan to meet weekly for lesson consultations and guide both teachers and students in creating projects that benefit the community and incorporate everyday technology,” noted Mr. Arvin Buendia, a Robotics and Automation Specialist from SpryTech Solution Corps., on the importance of this partnership.
The robotics program starts from grade 4 up to grade 12 is designed around areas like cybersecurity, robotics automation and data analytics that are essential components of a Bachelor of Science in Information Technology curriculum.
Soon learners will be able to link Robotic Technology in different platforms, as the school introduce Robotics Technology Based Courses as it gradually introduced College in the next 2 to 3 school terms. Summer Hill School aims to be one of the first College in CDO that will offer Robotics making Summer Hill College a Robotic Hub in Mindanao.
The school also launched their Theme Song – Seize the Moment and the New Alma Mater Song – Our Summer Hill School, composed by Mark Anthony Cuevas, Interpreted by Sandra Faith Dela Cruz.
With its school mantra, ALMAE DUCES – Nurturing Leaders, Summer Hill School embarks to another milestone of introducing the New Era of Education.
