With more than 20 models and variants to choose from, the best of German, Japanese, and Chinese tech, and three of the most dedicated hard core bikers in the Philippines, there’s nothing true blue bikers could wish for more for their dream machine!

The newest motorcycle dealership has just opened its new showroom along the National Highway in Kauswagan, Cagayan de Oro City, and boy has it got a bike for all budgets and inclinations!

Whether hardcore or enthusiast, expert or amateur, well-heeled or gig wage earner, bikers the world over will tumble head over heels when they drool over more than 20 model offerings of CFMOTO Cagayan de Oro.

“CFMOTO is under Moto-moto Mobility Inc. and our area coverage is Cagayan de Oro and nearby municipalities for now. We may be offered Northern Mindanao if we are successful in our CDO endeavor,” said MMMI President Jeff Rolida.

A hard-core big biker from as far back as two decades ago, Rolida was president of Kagay-anon Krusers (KK), Cagayan de Oro City’s premier bike club of big bikers. He became National President of National Federation of Motorcycle Clubs of the Phils Inc. (NFMCPI) in  2007-2008 and even hosted the NFMCPI National Convention at the Grand Caprice and LKK mall grounds chaired by fellow KK officer Jondi Lacson. KK has grown to a membership of around a hundred members with 50% of whom are very active. It is now headed by Paul Borja in his second year as president.

CFMOTO

“We chose to open CFMOTO because I and my partner Macky Yu are both motorcycle enthusiasts. Maybe we are not as active as a couple decades ago, but nonetheless, we are two wheels fanatics at heart still,” Rolida stressed. The duo have partnered with Emmanuel Lu, CEO of Motostrada, the exclusive distributor of CFMOTO and MV Augusta bikes in the Philippines.

CFMOTO is the trade name of  Zhejiang Chunfeng Power Co., Ltd., a Chinese manufacturer engaged in developing, manufacturing, marketing and delivering reliable motorcycles, all-terrain vehicles, quadricycles, quads, and yachts, as well as engines, frames, parts, apparels and accessories headquartered in HangzhouZhejiang, China.

Founded in 1989 by Lai Guoqiang, CFMOTO has built a robust market share in more than 100 countries and regions, and sets up three branches in Europe, the United States, and Thailand to service its more than 3,000 dealers and 1 million+ users.

In 2011, CFMOTO entered into a commercial partnership with and KTM AG , an Austrian motorcycle, bicycle and sports car manufacturer in KTM Fahrrad GmbH, an  independent company owned by Chinese investors.

In 2017, the two companies started a joint venture that allows the production and sale of KTM motorcycles in China as KTMR2R. CFMOTO also assembles the small displacement models on behalf of KTM in its Chinese factories and also produces the large displacement KTM engines.

At the end of 2020, CFMOTO announced a new sub-brand of electric motorcycles, ZEEHO which focuses on high-performance power and sports products.

In the latest development, CFMOTO and Yamaha have reached an agreement to set up a joint venture in Zhuhou China named ZHUZHOU CF YAMAHA MOTOR CO., LT.D (ZCYM). The new company is slated to start operations next month.

Performance Heritage

To have an idea of  the quality and pedigree of CFMOTO bikes, Eric King recently listed no less than four (4) CFMOTO Bikes in his list of 10 Best Chinese Motorcycles in an online article published October 19, 2023 in hotcars.com:

2024 CFMOTO 450SS

At  No. 10 is the 2024 CFMOTO 450SS, a sport bike featuring a DOHC parallel twin engine with a 270-degree crankshaft. The 50 HP sport bike comes standard with 4-piston Brembo brake calipers up front, inverted front forks, adjustable gear shifter, and ABS.

At No. 9 is the 2023 CFMOTO Ibex 800 S, a touring/adventure bike that’s one of the more expensive offerings from CFMOTO, but it is still much cheaper than the best adventure bikes available today.

CFMOTO Ibex 800 S

The Ibex 800 S comes loaded with standard features such as a slipper clutch, cornering ABS, and two electronic riding modes. Also coming as a standard kit is electronic cruise control and KYB fully adjustable suspension. CFMOTO also offers an Ibex 800 T with even more features like heated grips and an up/down quick shifter.

At No.7 is the 2023 CFMOTO 800NK, the naked bike model from CFMOTO, which offer specs almost up to par with the venerable Kawasaki Z900 model.

2023 CFMOTO 800NK

The 799 cc parallel-twin motor makes 100 hp and 60 lb-ft of torque compared to the Z900’s 113 hp and 72 lb-ft of torque. The 800NK also comes standard with three switchable riding modes, a slipper clutch, and a fully adjustable KYB suspension.

Further up the list at No. 4 is the 2023 CFMOTO 700CL-X Sporta “unicorn” motorcycle, which may refer to the culture of café racers being unique and customizable. The 700 CL-X Sport looks the part with a short, chopped tail section, bar-end mirrors, and a single rounded headlight.

2023 CFMOTO 700CL-X Sport

It also features dual front disks with Brembo Stylema brake calipers and ABS, a slipper clutch, and a fully adjustable KYB suspension. The 2023 CFMOTO 700CL-X Sport looks to compete with other modern classic motorcycles under 1,000 cc.

“Chinese two-wheeler manufacturers like CFMOTO and Voge are now exporting bikes for Westerners to enjoy, with most offering excellent bang for the buck. The low price tags of Chinese motorcycles are a huge draw and can be especially attractive to riders looking for good beginner sport bikes or even Harley-Davidson knockoff-style cruisers,” King notes.

More Fun Coming Up

In two recent articles posted in their website, MotorcyleNews.com heralded the imminent release of two more exciting CFMOTO bikes: the CFMOTO 500SR and the 675SR.

The 500SR is the culmination of a three-year project by CFMOTO to develop a new multi-cylinder range and revives excitement in the small capacity, four-cylinder middleweight sportsbikes.

Its upside-down forks are likely to be KYB units, looking very similar to the ones used on the recently launched, KTM-powered 800NK naked bike. With relatively high mounted bars, it looks more likely to be an all-rounder for most customers, not an out-and-out track day machine. Its four-cylinder engine exhales through a belly-mounted exhaust, keeping a clean look to the rear. A close look shows the pipe is already looking production-ready, complete with a large silencer/catalyst.

Similarly, CFMOTO also looks to revive the mid-sized supersport class with a new 675cc three-cylinder sports bike – the 675SR. Patent applications for the engine’s design show it’s essentially the same as the SR’s 449.5cc twin, but with an additional cylinder to boost capacity to match the bike’s 675SR designation.

In terms of performance, the company say that the 675SR is good for as at least 50lb.ft from 675cc. That’s on the money in comparison to the discontinued Triumph’s old Daytona 675R and MV Agusta’s F3 675. With stricter emissions limits and an engine design that’s focused on midrange rather than top-end power, it’s more of a natural rival to the current Aprilia RS660Honda CBR650R, and Yamaha R7

Customers can avail of financing for their dream bikes from Asia United Bank (AUB), Robinsons Bank, BPI, Sumisho Motor Finance Corporation, and Radiowealth Finance Company (RFC).
